Production Value is the only master class for assistant directors and line producers from all over Europe. Its process is unique and also offers an opportunity to producers and directors to have their film project scheduled and budgeted.
At the heart of Production Value is the firm conviction that it is to the European film industry’s advantage to combine the respective experiences of “creative partners” (Producers and Directors) and “operational partners” (Line Producers and First Assistant Directors) in the interest of the film project itself, be it a low-budget auteur film or a high-budget pan-European co-production. And this with respect to an often under-estimated aspect of filmmaking, namely scheduling & budgeting.
Production Value is a training initiative organized by FOCAL Switzerland (Lausanne) in coproduction with the Norwegian Film Institute (Oslo) the Swedish Film Institute (Stockholm), the Finnish Film Foundation (Helsinki) and for the 2020 edition by Hungarian National Film Fund with the support of the Compensating Measures of the Federal Office of Culture FOC.
Swiss filmmaker Denis Rabaglia is back as Head of Studies for the 12th time (after handing the 2017 and 2018 editions to Norwegian line producer Kaare Storemyr). Hannah Lichtenstein is General Coordinator for the 7th time.
