4th IMAGO Cinematographers symposium “inspiration”. 1st time in Amsterdam. From May 18th -21st for film professionals. Hosted by the NSC.

A symposium with great cinematographers as guest speakers: artists, who have shown such a degree of creativity and personal expression that we simply have to meet them, have a talk, and a chance to be mutually inspired.

The sessions are structured like a dialogue between the guest speaker and the audience – with discussion, exchange of views and experience, and screening of clips from the guest’s films, giving them the opportunity to explain their artistic choices.

Additionally there is a special screening “Professione: Reporter“ (dir. M. Antonioni) with attendance of D.o.P. Luciano Tovoli, AIC, ASC and afterwards a session with him moderated by Peter Verstraten, chair of Film and Literary Studies at Leiden University. He wrote among others Film Narratology (2009) and Humour and Irony in Dutch Post-war Cinema (2016). He co-edited Shooting Time: Cinematographers on Cinematography (2012), with Richard van Oosterhout, NSC and Maarten van Rossem, NSC. – open to public

Lecture by Elen Lotman, ESC “The Cinematographer as professional see-er”.

Panel discussion with special guests from other than film disciplines – based on the assumption that the cinematographic expression is the pivotal starting point.

Participants come from all over the world. During the Forum we are pleased to offer you free meals, coffee, tea and soft drinks.

Admission fee is 199,65 Euro incl. 21% VAT. If you are from an EU-Country and you can provide your EU-VAT number in the application, the VAT can be reversed charged.
