We will start the special guest’s programme with two spectacular feature debuts. (April 5) the Sundance winner for Best Cinematography: The Land of the Enlightened with Belgian director Pieter-Jan de Pue and the exclusive chance to watch the making-of  and win tickets for EYE’s screenings. (April 12) History’s Future, the feature debut of the exciting visual artist Fiona Tan, starring Rifka Lodeizen. We will end with a good laugh receiving the dynamic and hilarious duo Steffen Haars and Flip Van der Kuil (April 19), we’ve heard they are planning cool stuff for a near future. No Shortcutz session on April 26, we will let you take your time to choose your orange outfit for King’s day.

APRIL 5 .  THE LAND OF THE ENLIGHTENED SPECIAL
PIETER-JAN DE PUE, directed probably one of the most powerful movies of 2016: The Land of the Enlightened. Sundance winner for best cinematography and International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) / Tiger competition. This movie will hit the cinemas 2 days later (April 7) and we are proud to tell you that you will have the chance to find out everything about the making-of and even get the chance to win tickets to watch this film at EYE.

APRIL 12 .  HISTORY’S FUTURE SPECIAL
RIFKA LODEIZEN, no need for any introduction. Rifka played the leading character in Can Go Through Skin directed by Esther Rots in 2009. The film premiered at the Berlinale in 2009 and awarded Rifka with the Golden Calf for Best Actress. Besides film, Rifka also played in several television productions. For her role in Betrayal in 2012 Rifka received the Golden Calf for Best Actress in a TV drama.
FIONA TAN has participated in many international exhibitions including the Documenta and the Biennales of Sao Paulo, Istanbul, Sydney and Yokohama. Tan represented The Netherlands at the Venice Biennale (2009). Her works are represented in numerous collections including: Tate Modern (London), the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam) and the New Museum (New York).

APRIL 19 .
STEFFEN HAARS & FLIP VAN DER KUIL, this hilarious duo is responsible for the hit movies: New Kids Turbo, New Kids Nitro and Bros Before Hos. We’ve heard that they are planning something cool for a near future and we want to know everything about it!

APRIL 26 .
NO SHORTCUTZ SESSION, we will let you take your time to choose your orange outfit for King’s day.

12 April | Dead Silence directed by Brian De Vore & Jeffrey De Vore
A woman and her baby drive home on a country road at night, when the woman accidentally runs into a man. He appears dead, but is he really? Dead Silence is a fast-paced horror short with a nod to the classics and an unexpected twist.

12 April | Bingo! directed by Patrick Schoenmaker
The seclusive retirement home Afterglow is a depressing end station. Fortunately, feisty elderly Gerda has one spark of joy: the weekly Bingo night. When she is one blank short of winning the game and the tiny ball suddenly disappears, she starts an absurd search in which she is willing to go to extreme lengths in order to get the outcome of that night’s bingo game.

19 April | Deserted directed by Niels Bourgonje
A man walks through a desert carrying a full water bottle. He fights desperately the temptation to drink the water. The question arises how the man got himself into this predicament. And what will happen if he does drink the water?

19 April | Night Shift directed by Ken van Mierlo
“WachtNacht” tells the story of a chance encounter in a convenience store, between two people from completely different worlds. What will happen next is sure to change everything forever.
