MORNING PROGRAM

Possibilities to make a short film in the Netherlands
10:30h – 11:30h
What possible options are available for financing a short film in the Netherlands? We will present the survey we held among our Dutch entries for this year, in which we asked them how they funded their film and with what kind of budget they worked. We will talk about the results of this research and present the different options that are available. We will try to broaden the view. You don’t have to be dependent on traditional fundings; there are other options out there. We will talk with, among others, the Netherlands Film Fund, the Dutch Cultural Media Fund and producer Gijs Kerkbosch from Dutch production company 100% Halal. Moderated by Carolien Croon.

This seminar is aimed at a Dutch Audience, therefore the seminar will be in Dutch.

Best practice: two international case studies
11:30h – 13:00h
Two successful international short film projects will be presented as a case study. The directors will talk about how they made their film, touching upon all the different stages that include everything from funding to festival strategy. They will share tips and tricks on how to make your next project a successful one. Sahim Omar Kalifa will talk about his successful short film Baghdad Messi, which was shortlisted for the Oscars. Kalifa has won over 70 international awards for his short films.

One-on-one meetings
13:00h – 14:00h
We will set up one-on-one meetings with guests from the film industry that take place during lunch. You can join them at their table for a short and private conversation and ask them all of your questions. Among others, Dorien van de Pas (The Netherlands Film Fund), Andrea Posthuma (Creative Europe Desk NL), sales agent Cinzia Spironello (Other Voices) José van Doorn (Netherlands Film Production Incentive), Miryam van Lier (Dutch Cultural Media Fund), Ben Vandaele (coproduction with Belgium) and sales agent Sydney Neter (SND Films) will be available for your questions.
