About the NBF

The NBF is the Dutch Association of Film and TV professionals and is founded in 1952. It counts around 600 members and it is the oldest professional association in the mediafield in the Netherlands. The NBF represents all disciplines in the film- and television area, and is a service association for employees as well as employers. The main concern of the NBF is stimulating the social and cultural interests of the Dutch movie- and television production and the professionals concerned.  An other important focus of the association is to stimulate the contact between the members, government and the Dutch society in general.

Other important goals of the NBF are the protection of interests of individual professionals and the film and television area in general and providing several services and information about the branch of industry. Because of years of experience, a lot of knowledge and expertise has been generated. NBF members will profit from collective discounts on insurances and other advantages. The NBF regularly organizes events to provide the opportunity  to connect with other professionals in specialized fields, as well as themed events to gain knowledge about new relevant developments.

The NBF member database counts a great diversity in the media area. Not only employers, but also employees are represented. By this, the NBF provides the opportunity to start a dialogue between members, different areas in the field  and between different functions.

The NBF organizes different events througout the year:
– NetwerkBorrel voor Film en tv (NBF): networking event on every last Monday of the month in Amsterdam where members and other professionals can meet up, having drinks and dinner, and listen to different pitches;
– NBF themabijeenkomsten: symposia on different specific subjects such as 3D-technic, transmedia or copyright;
– NBF workshops: the teachers of workshops organized by the NBF are mostly members and are aimed at a broad range of film and television professionals.
