Call for Entry IDFA 2013

IDFA roept makers op om hun documentaires in te sturen voor het komende festival. De deadline is 1 mei 2013 voor films die gemaakt zijn tussen 1 augustus 2012 en 1 april 2013. Lees hier de oproep van directeur Ally Derks.

Call for Entry | A message from IDFA Director Ally Derks

Dear film professional,

The 26th International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam will take place in Amsterdam from 20 November- 1 December 2013. Again, more than 250 documentaries will be selected, running the gamut from international audience favourites to artistic experiments along the fringes of the genre.

We would like to welcome you to submit your films for IDFA 2013. The first deadline is 1 May. This deadline is for all films completed between 1 August 2012 and 1 April 2013. The last deadline is 1 August, for all films finished after 1 April 2013. However, it is important to enter your documentary at the earliest possible moment. To submit your film, please complete the IDFA Online Entry Form 2013. Please see IDFA Regulations 2013 for our submission guidelines and other rules and regulations.

Submit through MyIDFA
Films can be submitted using your MyIDFA account. You can use your MyIDFA account from previous years or create one, if you don’t have an account yet. This allows you to submit films and projects to IDFA, as well as to the Docs for Sale and FORUM markets. You can register for MyIDFA on our website.

Entry Fee
The entry fee is the same as last year: €30,- excl. VAT.

Deadlines and regulations
– 1 May for films finished between 1 August 2012 and 1 April 2013
– 1 August for films finished after 1 April 2013

Call for Entry | IDFA WorldView Summer School | Deadline 1 April
From 1-6 July 2013, IDFAcademy organizes the fifth edition of the IDFA WorldView Summer School: a tailor-made training program for emerging filmmakers, taking place in Amsterdam and aimed at strengthening the narrative structure of documentary projects.

IDFA WorldView Summer School offers the opportunity to meet and work with highly esteemed filmmakers and film professionals who are willing to share their knowledge and experience with emerging film talent. The Summer School combines individual coaching with group sessions and an inspiring cultural program in a relaxed atmosphere. It offers two types of training possibilities: Script Development and Editing Consultancy. Participants will be coached by eight documentary experts from all over the world.
