E*Cinema 18 oktober – Inter-Action: Shorts by SEAT, Seattle Experimental Animation Team
In de maandelijkse serie E*Cinema besteedt EYE Film Instituut Nederland aandacht aan de historische én hedendaagse experimentele film. Deze maand presenteert E*Cinema een compilatieprogramma met films van het Seattle Experimental Animation Team (SEAT).
Een collectief van animatoren en filmmakers die zich richten op verschillende technieken van handgetekende animaties tot computeranimaties. Ook klei-animator Bruce Brickford, beroemd wegens zijn werk met Frank Zappa, is erelid van dit gemêleerde gezelschap. Naast de films van SEAT wordt op deze avond ook de documentaire Monster Road (2004) over Bickford vertoond.
De E*Cinema serie is nog tot en met december 2011 in EYE Vondelpark. In het voorjaar van 2012 betrekt EYE zijn nieuwe onderkomen aan de noordelijke IJ-oever van Amsterdam. Ook op de nieuwe locatie wordt de E*Cinema serie voortgezet.

The Comic That Frenches Your Mind Chronicles of a Professional Eulogist
Nieuwe korte films van SEAT, het Seattle Experimental Animation Team, die vaak uitdagende animatiefilms maken die tot nadenken stemmen. Over de liefde, gekte, geloof , jaloezie en moord. Met inleiding van SEAT-animator en curator Tess Martin.
Crashing Waves

In Crashing Waves brengen twee schipbreukelingen hun dagen door op een verlaten strand, waar ze de zon en de getijden besturen. Zijn het goden of zijn ze doorgedraaid door hun hachelijke situatie? Met gebruik van pixellatie, time-lapse camerawerk en poppenanimatie.

Nieuwe locatie 2012
In het voorjaar van 2012 betrekt EYE zijn nieuwe onderkomen aan de noordelijke IJ-oever van Amsterdam. EYE is de eerste grote culturele instelling die de sprong neemt over het IJ. Het nieuwe gebouw biedt onderdak aan vier modern geoutilleerde filmzalen van totaal 600
zitplaatsen. Er is volop ruimte voor tentoonstellingen, educatieve activiteiten en bijeenkomsten. Een filmlab, een collectie panorama, een winkel en een café-restaurant met terras maken het aanbod compleet. EYE maakt deel uit van de nieuwe Amsterdamse stadswijk Overhoeks, genoemd naar de toren Overhoeks op het voormalige Shell Research-terrein.

E*Cinema 18 October – Inter-Action: Shorts by SEAT, Seattle Experimental Animation Team
EYE Film Institute Netherlands focuses on historical and contemporary experimental film in the monthly E*Cinema series. This month E*Cinema presents a compilation programme of films by the Seattle Experimental Animation Team (SEAT). SEAT is a collective of animators and filmmakers who use various techniques, from handmade animations to computer animations. Clay animator Bruce Brickford, famous for his work with Frank Zappa, is a member of this mixed group. As well as the films by SEAT, the documentary Monster Road (2004) about Brickford will be screened on the evening.
The E*Cinema series will continue to be screened in EYE Vondelpark until the end of this year. In the spring of 2012 EYE is moving to new accommodation on the north bank of the IJ in Amsterdam, where the E*Cinema series will be continued.

New location in 2012
In the spring of 2012 EYE is moving to new accommodation on the north bank of the IJ in Amsterdam. EYE is the first large cultural organization to make the leap across the IJ. The new building will accommodate four modern well-equipped cinemas seating 600 in total. There will be plenty of space for exhibitions, educational activities and meetings. A film lab, a panorama of the collection, a shop and a café-restaurant with a terrace complete the facilities. EYE is part of the new Amsterdam district Overhoeks, which is named after the Overhoeks tower on the former Shell Research site.
